... I did some very stupid things to try to get pain pills, anyhow, the short of it is, I have a very important meeting tomorrow with the big bosses at work and may or may not have a job by the end of the day. I have already experienced the overwhelming support to be found here, and I am just asking for everyone's thoughts and prayers for tomorrow. Not only do I need my job, I love what I do for a living. Thank you all :)
I don't have a question, rather a request. I am new to this site, and to detoxing with suboxone, and

Thank you all for the support and prayers, lost my job anyhow, but I appreciate you all. I probably won't be on here much for a couple days, I'm having a pity party. I know I did this to myself, I just thought that the prior 11 years I had with my employer, with an awesome employment record, would mean something to them, but it doesn't. I f'd up, BIG TIME, but I know, I'm sorry, and I am getting help, rather than stick by me, they choose to toss me out with yesterday's trash. Hope everyone is well and happy.
Kitkat, I'm so so sorry. I too almost lost my job and can only imagine what you are feeling. Was the offense that bad that they fired you after 11 years? Please hang in there. We are here for you!!
I'm sorry - I just saw this question, so I'm too late to pray for you. I'm so sorry you lost your job. It certainly doesn't seem fair. I will pray for you now, that the Lord will lead you to something even better. I am glad you are getting treatment, and hope you keep your head high that you are doing what is best for you right now, and that is getting healthy. The rest will come. God Bless -
I know everyone thinks it's a stupid job, being a corrections officer, but I went to work there 11 years ago for the health benefits, and it turned out I LOVED IT. I have an entire dresser drawer full or awards given to me throughout my career from my department, and now, because I got hurt, had chronic pain, then had multiple surgeries, followed by more pain, which led to this addiction, which I sought help for, I am nothing to them, NOTHING, and it just hurts, soooooooooooo much. I guess they figure since some of the inmates are in prison for doing drugs they can't have someone who abused pain pills overseeing them. There are tons of officers, at my complex alone who are in the same boat I was, but they won't admit to having a problem and seek help, yet they still work there. We've had officers get DUI's, multiple ones, domestic violence charges, drugs, assaults, and they get disciplined, but still have jobs.
kitkat,
I wonder if you should call an attorney that does pro-bono work, sounds as if you were treated quite unfairly!
I am so sorry about job situation, with all those commondations I am sure you will find another dream job soon.
Best wishes to you,
sweetlemon
Ohhh Kit, I just read this post... so sorry. I have nothing but admiration for you, that you have gone through this and are still fighting the battle for recovery. Dont give up. I did very stupid things to get pills that would have caused me to lose my job if I had been caught. After 20 years there, I left on my own. The stress and paranoia of "what if they DO find out" got the better of me--so I left. At least now I have a job that my addiction has never interfered with, and that alone is a load off my mind. You will have another job soon enough--- with a fresh start. I just wish i could help in some way.
