Im wondering if there is any one that knows how I would be able to get help with my perscripions each month? my insurance doesnt pay for prescrpions and I have over 400 $ a month of meds that I really need for medical reasons.I was told by the doctor and pharmacy that I cannot just stop taking these meds,my husband and I are not working but he gets a retired income of less than 13oo..so really dont have any money to pay for them.unfortanitly we have been eating very little for the last 3 months just so i can have the medications i need..I would really appriacte it if anyone could help send me in the right direction... sincerly Michele..
Michele, First let your doctor know of your limited funds to see if generics or another med that is less expensive or if the doctor would give you samples. Then ask the pharmacist if there are local programs available for those who can't afford their meds. Then, most meds have a webpage now, go to the webpage and see if there is a link that the manufacturer placed there for those who can't afford their meds, many companies have programs for this.
I would call a 211 type of info line to direct you by phone to the PharmiCO's
they claim to help people in need. Wish I had money to send you but I don't.Please don't give up, there is a way. Try to intuit your answer by geting out of the problem and into the solution. Love @hugs,Joanne
Hi. I am in the same boat, but if u have a Bilo near u they have the $4 prescription program for certain meds, and they just started this wonderful new program for people who have no type of insurance. It has saved me. When u drop your prescription off u let them know u r self pay, no insurance. They give u a prescription discountcard that u can only use at Bilo. When u puck up your meds u present your card ans it saves a lot of money. I got a $52 med for $10 and u can use the card over and over again. If u do not have Bilo near u, u might call around to grocery store pharmacies, Walmart, Target, and maybe even drug stores and maybe they r doin it. But I definitely recommend Bilo. GOOD LUCK!!!
I was in the same boat as you and my Dr. has the list for Walmart and he made sure that what he prescribed for me is on the $4 list... Now I have insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield its called Go BLue and its only $33 a mth and I now get my scripts at Publix all four of them for about $5 where it would normally cost me about $200.. Go Blue also pays my labs 100% and it pays $50 towards Dr's appt.. I live in Fla.. but it would be something for you to look into to see if they have it in your state.. just go to BCBS.com... even paying the mthly payment would be alot cheaper for you... shine
