on the medication and I have problems sleeping my moods are little bit better but sleeping is not..My doc prescribe me imovane sleeping pill... Which is i think i have to take because i need to get some sleep... Is it normal ..How long in till the mirtazapine helps me sleep..
hi there, I have taken mirtazapine (remeron or zispin in my country) it sure knocked me out 4 18 hrs when first taken n then sleeping became less after continuation. This med didnt work 4 me personally but helped me sleep, this is why i question wether its not helping you sleep especially when taken with imovane which i dont know of but seems 2 me as if its a sleeping pill. The only advice i can give 2 u is consult yr doc. about why u cannot sleep maybe try a stronger sleep aid.. its weird because mirtazapine really makes u so drowsy u fall asleep although i know tht all people are different and react 2 meds differently.... gd luck....
Hello k82. Bit late in answering your question. I've been on it for several years now. My current dose is 135mg or 3x45mg pills. In the beginning, my dose was low. 45mg. that was to allow my body to adjust to it. I was then finishing seoquel, making the transition to Mirtazapine. I went sleepless, and it was only when I went onto the 90mg that some sleep began to kick in. So, I'd say that in your case, an increase might just be what you need. Its been a month so, your body has adjusted. I'm certain that an increase will be the solution for you. best of wishes.
