Hi,I have been on fentanyl 100mcg change every 72 hrs and lortab 10.I still have severe pain in my legs and back.Would it be a bad choice to ask my DR. to lower my fentanyl to 75mcg.And try a different break through medication.I feel that the fentanyl dose helps and maybe I expect it to work better.I lowered it in the past and found out the hard way how much it was really helping me.I guess my main fear is that my dr will not be willing to give me anything stronger for break through.I do not over medicate and take my lortab every four hours.I have allot of fears being on fentanyl and I am worried my Dr. will just cut me off my meds if I ask for something stronger.Help please I am very confused.
The thing you should be asking yourself is my doctor nice enough to consider this. You know your doctor better than anybody the relationship between dr. and patient is for him/her to have trust in you that you are doing what you should with your meds. Only you know if he or she would do that for you. I say go for it all they can say is no and you leave it at that.
