... victoza finding no info for type 1 diabetics only on type2 should i be taking this
Unfortunately if you have Type1 diabetes you are unable to make insulin yourself. So Victoza won't really help you.
Victoza is a diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. It works by increasing the amount of insulin that your body produces.
Victoza is used to treat type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent). This medication is not for treating type 1 diabetes.
Your doctor needs to review your insulin dose, or the type of insulin you are on ... after seeing your blood sugar readings.
I was taking that combination Lantus and Humalog until ten days ago. I am on the Accu-Chek insulin pump. It is working great. I would ask my Dr. About the insulin pump. With type I diabetes this would be a great opportunity to keep your diabetes under control. I thought it would be difficult but it's not.
