I had a slight case of gout 2 years ago but no reoccurance. Could the Niaspan cause this?
Niaspan can interfere with glucose metabolism in the body leading to hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). If you have diabetes, your Doctor may choose to monitor your condition more carefully and make any necessary dosing adjustments.
Do contact your Doctor and discuss this further.-
All the best.-
