The effectiveness of Yasmin may be decreased by certain medicines like antibiotics. You should use a back up method. This is in all bc that I know of. There are other drugs that can effect the drug as well. So if you need to take otc or new meds ask your prescribing doctor and see if the meds that you are taking require a back up method while on them. Or you could just call your pharmacist and ask let them know what it is you are taking with Yasmin and they will be able to answer you as well.
Antibiotics will affect any birth control pill. I would try to abstain or use a back-up method until you finish and then for about 4-5 days after just in case, some antibiotics continue working for up to 5 days after you finish taking it. Hope this info helps answer your question.
