I am on my second series of flagyl as the symptoms came back. Now my neck is so stiff that I can hardly move it. I saw this listed as a side effect of Flagyl. I'm scared of stopping the flagyl because then I have to take the Vancomycin which is so expensive. I so hate having to return to diarrhea or pay $2000. for Vancomycin, How common is neck pain and will it go away eventually while taking flagyl.
The infection you picked up in the hospital is called C. diff and it is very serious and can be very hard to get rid of, so be very careful about missing any doses of your meds. Neck pain is listed as a severe side effect of Flagyl and one that you should consult your doctor for right away. Don't delay, and don't stop the Flagyl until your doctor says to - you want to have the Vancomycin ready so this bug doesn't grow in power. This bug can be deadly so please be careful! Beg, borrow - I won't tell you to steal, but please don't let money be a factor in taking the Vancomycin. Vancomycin and Flagyl are the only two meds that this bug responds to. Please call your doctor about your neck. See side effects of Flagyl here: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/flagyl-side-effects.html
