my doctor wrote a note to the lab but I am still afraid they will find it in my system and I wont get the job. My question is, do they test for prescription drugs such as percocets anyway?
Yes they test for opiates. Be upfront with your potential employer. On the job app., did it ask if you were taking any prescription meds? Not if, but when the results come back positive, why would they deny you the job over a legitimate prescription med? Is the job considered "safety sensitive?" Always be honest and it will work out for you. The most important "drugs" employers look for are the illegal ones, weed, meth, etc. Try not to worry. It sounds as if your doc has your back. He could always write a note to your potential employer explaining you are capable of the job duties while on this medication. Good luck to you. Have faith that it will work out ok!
