... cancell out the LauraTabs. Please help I know the doctor said it for brake threw pain, but should I take them together or like 30mins a part. If you are on the same medication plase let me know how you do your pills. Thank you
You should use the Methadone for most of your pain relief and take the Lortabs only if you get a spike of pain that the methadone doesnt cover. You should only use the Lortab on occasion when you need a little extra pain relief. If you know you are going to do an activity that normally causes increased pain, it sometimes helps to take the Lortab prior to the painful activity. Sometimes people find that their long acting pain medication (in your case, the methadone) does not last as long as it should between doses so they will take the break through dose to cover the pain until it is time for their next dose of long acting medicine. I hope this helps clear things up a bit for you.
You should really not need the Lortabs but occasionally and should take after you have taken the methadone. They won't cancel eachother. Taking for break through pain, like the doctor said, means when the methadone isn't relieveing all your pain then you can take the Lortab. Not all the time, only as needed.
