Citalopram can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
It's hard to say what sort of effects the baby will experience ... perhaps the hardest time will be when you either stop breastfeeding or when you stop citalopram while you are breastfeeding.
