some days I feel almost ok but most days I feel sick , flu-ish,some days cant get out of bed, tired, itching, all kind of achs and pains, feet especially toes hurt, throat has been sore off and on for more than a year,. I cannot work and if I do I will work a couple of days and be totally wiped out for days after... Is all this the effect of the ant biotic or infection??
Wow! I feel bad to hear you've been ill for so long, my Question to is this, Why did they choose Bactrim?? I found that this is a drug usually reserved for "MRSA", it's usually an infection you get from the "Hospital", or at least that is what I've read, we all carry this bacteria in our nostrils, and need a Bactrim Cream to rub the medication in each nare to also help kill off the infection, the usual oral route does not always get all the infection, until you start using the cream in your nostrils.
I'm not a doctor, but I've had this same infection many times, and it's awful it is exactly as you describe, the pain from it can be terrible, and the fatigue is awful. It may be a combination of the medication and the infection, but I would look up the MRSA on google, you'll be surprised at the amount of information you'll dig up on this infection. I'll back track if I can and give you the full name for the MRSA OK. My blessings to you, and good luck. You may need to ask your doctor to see if it is MRSA, however after being on antibiotics already, it may not show up now in a petri dish, sadly, you'll have wait until you're infected again and they do a swab to find out... how awful is that? Good Luck, and please check back often I hope you get well soon! ((hugs))
Hi snoop40; I believe I posted an answer to your question, in fact I know I did, yesterday. Don't know what happened to it.Here's my experience. Basically, it's the same as yours. Bactrim is an old antibiotic, and always was very hard to take, with multiple side effects and allergic reactions. In the 1980's I tried it twice, and again around 1992... no way! Dump it man. Get rid of it as it can be dangerous [it was supposed to be pulled off the market]. There are a dozen or more newer and far better and safer antibiotics out there, check 'em out. If you've gotta get a new dr. so be it. Sacosam
I’m on Bactrim for 4 1/2 months, 6 weeks In.. I experience achy hands, and can’t concentrate, I deal with this hourly, and be only taken 6 weeks. Ugh! I am 34 and do not carry insurance (1099 employee) when I was 23 I was diagnosed with a auto immune deficiency, I never followed the directions and was supposed to take it 2xs a day for 6 months. I had MRSA, and seen a specialist in infectious disease.. he found an issue w/ IGg issue after the symptoms were gone, I quit... I regret this... the last 5 years has been tough w/ acne, and since last may dealt w/ psoriasis, horribly!! But I’ll be following through.
