I am on 185mg of methadone and gave been put on nucynta 50mg to help. I have never heard of it and have read horror stories about feeling dizzy and sick.
A neurologist told me just the other day that Nucynta, along with being an opiate that helps with pain, also has the same propery as Cymbalta, an anti-depressant that is also prescribed for nerve pain and fibromyalgia. So if you suffer from any of these conditions it would help, along with helping for pain relief. Sorry I don't know anyone personally using Nucynta right now. 185 mg of Methadone is a very high dose for chronic pain - my pain management doctor won't prescribe me over 90 mg of Methadone - he says there is a regulation stating that he can't (I've not been able to find out anything about a regulation - I think he is just uncomfortable prescribing over that amount). I'd be interested in knowing if the Nucynta 50 mg helps you - I'm going to make you a "friend" - if you do this for me also we can send private messages to each other.
Just click on the icon by my user name and select "friend". Just if you think of it in a couple of months, please let me know. Thanks! I hope you get effective pain relief without any serious side effects.
ii have been taking nucynta since april,,started with 75 mg twice a day, then a week later it made me feel light headed and nervous, so my dr. told me to cut in half,, so i was doing 37 1/2 mg. twice a day,, now im seeing a new pain doctor and she said it works best when you have a very low dose,, so now im doing 25mg, every 5 hours. (50mg) cut in half,, 4 times a day. i also take neurontin 300mg 3 times a day. i like the nucynta,, need to give a month or so to figure out what works for your pain,,, :)
