... can i continue on with everyday life and deal with my wife and children without major withdrawls? thanks in advance for any advice.
Suboxone is a wonderful medication, however, it should be given by a healthcare professional especially if you are switching over from Methadone. You can find alot of valuble info on this drug here and other websites, but, Suboxone is very powerful and can be dangerous if you don't know how to transition from Methadone to Suboxone. You can NOT take any tranquilizer with Suboxone, or drink alcohol. Check Wikipedia's entry for Suboxone just so you have some information on it. There is a Suboxone hot line, I am sorry I don't have the phnoe number, but, it is here somewhere on the forum. Hopefully Robert325 or someone a little more knowledgeable than me will also respond to your pose. Please don't just wing it,if you happened to have gotten some Suboxone off the street and not from a Doctor. Best of Luck to you
You'll need closer to 72 hours. Key is you have to score a minimum of 26 on the COWS (clincal opioid w/d scale) worksheet. I do this every day if you need help doing it right. It's a real drag if you make yourself sick coming off methadone trust me.
