... way am working on finding a new doc, I am also on provigil for depression which as most know isn't a good drug for me for its addictive qualities. And she has me as Depakote for depression which seems to help a bit. Please if someone could list a few meds that will help so I can ask her about them. Thank you
There are so many antidepressants out there. Wellbutrin is a DNRI (dopamine/ norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor). The other class antidepressants include SSRI's (serotonin reuptake inhibitor), SNRI's (serotonin/ norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors) and TCA's (tricyclic antidepressants) to name most of them. What classes have you tried? I can strongly recommend Pristiq, a SNRI, which is relatively new. I take it with good results. Unfortunately it is a trail and error sort of process and what works for one won't necessarily work for another.
Please let your doctor know the Wellbutrin just isn't cutting it. She can add another antidepressant to it without having to stop the Wellbutrin, if need be. I take Pristiq, Wellbutrin and Abilify. Abilify helps the antidepressants work better and helps with mood swings.
Just my experience at the moment, keep us posted,
