I am noticing that this combination is just not working for me like it has until now. I suffer from a sever pinched nerve, disk issues and sciatic nerve damage. My doctor is thinking of placing me on the pain patch, what is the opinion on this? and I am also going thru a work up for donating a kidney to my son, so I also do not wish to jeapordize this process with meds that may be processed thru the kidney. thank you!
I am currently on Opana ES 15 and 10 mg (12 hour) and roxycondone 15 mg for break thru pain?

and is the patch for continued pain or break thru. meaning does the patch cover what I am currently on? and are other medications need along with this?
in 2008, i was a kidney donor to my best friend whom ive known for 18 yrs. he was in end stage renal failure. ill be honest with you, if your doing work up, and im sure the same for live donors where you are at is the same here as in hawaii, you will do a phsych eval, full physicall, numerous blood work to see how well your body is functioning. i now have one kidney, and am on pain meds for chronic tmj, it is fine, the one thing you will be told to stay away from is anything with ibuprofin and contrast. if you havnt, and they transplant team dont know yet, dont share with them your back injuries. or nerve damage. they may say your not a good candadite. dont worry about those meds damaging your kidneys, its fine. i have asked my dr who did my kidney removal for transplant and he said just ibu, contrast, and oh not too much drinking, or smoking. once in a while a beer. hope this helped
Sorry I didn't see you question until today. I would assume by now you have your answer, but I do know with the fentanyl patch it takes the first one about 12 hours to kick in, so make sure you have pills to help thru that period. A lot of people use the patch, & the only problem they seem to have is getting it to stay stuck on their skin for 72 hours. I've heard they make overlays for this problem to help them stick. I do not know about the kidney transplant. I hope you & your son are both doing fine...
