I had to take some weak doses when I got home and still may need to take some more before the end of week three. The doctor had me finishing out on low doses of klonopin but I could not do what he prescribed. I had some of my old .25 at home take when I felt like I was going to have a breakdown. I have found that a half of a forth of an Ambien will stop my tremors and take the edge of better than anything the doctor sent home with me. He sent me home with is Hydroxyzine, Propranolol and Gabapentin l . Has anyone found a better way to come off and get rid of the tremors at the end detoxing? I go back to work tomorrow. Any tips on sleeping all night too.
Just want to encourage you to hang tough. Benzodiazepine withdrawals can be long and laborious. Try not to take any klonopin unless absolutely necessary. The meds the doctor sent you home on should be helping. I know the hydoxyzine isn't much for the anxiety but if you are trying to quit the benzo's it is the only alternative.
You can try melatonin at a low dose if you are taking Ambien too. Hopefully, once you are back to work the diversion will help you focus on something other than how you are feeling. Wish I could recommend more.
Here to be supportive as best as we can,
PS There is a website called benzobuddies.com which is a support group for folks coming off benzo's. Might check it out.
What you are going through is hard, and I feel for you. I had to quit Klonopin about 5 yrs ago due to becoming unexpectedly pregnant. I was on 2mg 3xday. I can't describe it. I can't. But I made it, and you can too. There is a non narcotic drug for anxiety called Buspar. You might ask your doctor about it. I don't know if it will help, but at this point it's worth a try. As for sleep, there are a couple of options. Have you ever heard of Trazadone? I am no doctor!!! Not by any means. I am just trying to help you, because you reached out and asked. I know I took it for a while during a hard time when I wasn't sleeping and it worked for me. Other members may have better suggestions, or your doctor, but like Laurie said, we (I) want to be supportive and give you some glimpse of feeling better. Hang in there. I did, and boy am I glad I did. Thanks for sharing.
