I went to a neurologist who told me I am depressed. I am generally a very happy person. People have told me that they have never saw a more happy teenager then me.. Anyways, my neurologist told me I should take nortriptyline hcl. She wrote me a pescription for it.. I have read that it causes heart failure and depression. I have been told its an addictive drug. I have a very high pain tolerance, but my headaches can reach a 9 or 10 on my scale of 1 to 10 sometimes... I also don't have very good sleeping patterns anymore because I wake up a lot.. How many people have had problems with this medication? Do you personally believe it is the right one for me? Especially with the side effects?
It is very difficult to say whether this medicine is right for you. There are several other classes of medicines available and if you do experience any side effects while taking this, please see your doctor, and they should change the medicine.
All the best and please be vigilant and see the doctor if you have any unusual symptoms.
