... my stomach lining cells are completely atrophied. I have no hydrochloric acid, which means flora bacteria overgrows, which causes malabsorption and diarrhea, and it appears I may have lost the ability to have normal formed stools because all I have had now for the last at least 6 months is explosive (gas) mush, diarrhea and floating pieces instead of stools. Does anyone know if I am likely permanently stuck with this, or if a doctor can fix it?
They often can, you need a GOOD gastroenterologist. Ask if you can start taking digestive enzymes, they help break down food and you may also benefit from a probiotics, there are several forms of that available, Culturelle would be the of one brand. It is lactobacilli I think. You may even have a gall bladder problem, get yourself checked out by a good gastroenterologist.
