... prescribed provera to take for 3 months in a row to take from the 16th day for 10 days each cycle. He also said I have PCOS.The first two months I started my cycle on the 27th day. The third month I started my cycle on the 24th day. Now its been 38 days and no cycle. I also put on 15 pounds during that 3 month time of taking Provera. It is now the 38th day and no period yet. I had a tubal ligation 19 years ago. Should I worry at all about pregnancy? What would the odds be of that? I am perimenopausal. The only other times I have been this late I was pregnant but I don't believe thats the case now but who knows. What should I do?
It is very doubtful you are pregnant. A couple of things could be happening. The Provera could have just thrown your cycle off. After all you were bleeding more frequent than usual before. Another possibility is just the start of menopause. During perimenopause a woman may go several months between periods until the periods just stop coming. Welcome to peri-menopause/menopause! (That is the day I PRAY for! The day those darn periods just stop coming! Dry up already-I'm done! LOL!) If there were any chance to get pregnant in these last 19 years you would probably have done so-I'd say it is probably greater than a one in a million! :)
