I am almost at 11 weeks and I just found out I was pregnant. I was taking pain medication everyday. Will that harm my baby if I stop taking it now? Will my baby go through withdrawal?
If you are a addict then I would advise you not to jump off. Wean yourself down to a pill a day and then stop. It won't hurt your baby this way and by stopping your baby won't be born addicted which could end up with child services becoming involved and believe me you don't want that... Good luck... Dave
First Congratulation. Now do not stop your meds cold turkey but do contact both your B and prescriber of your pain meds and all get on the same page. Do it todayif not yesterday. You need pain relief and you want is for the baby to be safe so do both as best that can be done. You may have to compramise some pain but maybe not. I hope you are as happy for you as I am. At thius time of year a baby is such a precious gift. As someone who ives with pain and has grandchildren I know there are times when my pain has to take a back seat. But it is all woth it. I hope this helps you and I pray that God blesses you and your new child. Good Luck and God Bless I will pray that you will find all that you need to make this event happen without anything that you can not handle Barb
so if my baby is NOT born addicted then child services will still become involved? I am confused. Since I found out like a day ago I stopped. I don't think I am an addict, but I was just curious if at 11 weeks, the baby already went through the most crucial stage of development and I wanted to make sure it would be OK, since I was taking pills ALMOST everyday prior to finding out.
