Hi--my rheumatologist says some of her patients took the drug long-term (1-2 years, I think) and the arthritis symptoms went away permanently and they were able to quit the drug. I am frustrated with side effects, but have probably not been taking it long enough to experience curative efforts yet--still trying to decide if this is worth it or not. I feel tired and vaguely nauseated all the time.
