I will be having a hysterectomy at the end of July. The doctor will be leaving my ovaries, just removing my uterus instead. Anyone out there who had this done? What can I expect physically after the surgery? I know that I won't go into menopause, but will I have any other weird effects other than not getting my period every month?
I had it done years ago. Overies are still holding up. I had cancer and lost it all.. felt bad because of the fact I could not have anymore children. After getting past that and walking a lot.. I had more energy and felt better all the way around. I did not have to take (wasn't given) any hormones and still don't. I think you will feel better especially if its due to problems.. heavy bleeding etc. I used to have to lay in my tub it was so bad. Very welcome after getting over the initial part of not having babies. Best of luck to you!
