You aren't the first person to ask this question. The doctors must want to find your thyroid levels, as there's a gland in the brain that also produces a synthetic thyroid. This way they can treat you properly. Remember it takes weeks for thyroid replacement hormones to leave your body, so you should be good. Just report any problems to your doctor.
