He was badly prescribed a testosterone shot when he was not hypogonadal, suffered two weeks of adverse reaction, and came out induced hypogonadal with feminiization of his genitals & sexual dysfunction (not had before). He has become severely depressed, suffers anxiety, nausea, & insomnia, & has essentially come undone. Can anyone give him hope? He says he feels he cannot go on like this, his life is so ruined by it. He wants to get word out to warn others of this risk & how money-hungry doctors push testosterone replacement therapy! It needs to be curtailed!! Please weigh in.
I've had endocrine issues for about 30 years with my my sex drive and libido disappearing totally about 10 years ago (I have a small pituitary tumour with unknown action). A visit to the endocrinologist and a couple of blood tests determined that I had zero available testosterone. Bang out with 1% Testogel and an explanation that I might not notice anything for 2-3 months. Four hours after application I was bouncing off walls and insanely irritable. After about a week that started to wear off and by day twelve when I discontinued I was very yellow and my liver was really suffering. I experimented with the gel changing the dose and using a syringe to measure small doses; at 100 micrograms per day it was still liver toxic. Since then I have discovered a number of foods that contain Androgen analogues (bitters in a drink), I have to avoid as well as Estrogen analogues as they induce Estrogen dominance and leaves me crying at the drop of a hat or for no reason at all (life for women must be hell!). I haven't had sex in 20 odd years and I'm still not happy or comfortable about the idea I never will again.
