... to mfr?
Now I'm no scientist, doctor or pharmacist but have taken Plaquenil or Hydroxychloroquine since 1997 for my lupus management. Although no one could tell me WHY an anti malarial helped with lupus, it's kept the butterfly rash and flares at bay. Personally I don't know if they differ but not by much, either to me they treat exactly exactly the same way
I have been taking plaquenil for close to 22 years. Originally insurance paid for the brand name. Once switched to generic, it often didn't work the same. I found out through research that there is an authorized generic manufacturer who receives the actual "recipe". They use the same binders also. Im this case, Prasco is the manufacturer. The tablets even have Plaquenil written on the pill. You can try asking your pharmacist to stock it for you. Good luck. Hope that helps
