I've been on hydrocodone for years and mixed percs in with it. I started taking them for fibromyalgia pain, whisk most people don't understand. I need to get off of both because I'm taking more than prescribed. But I'm dying from withdraws. I am a single mom at 41 with 2 kids under 5 so I don't have the luxury to take time off to go through this. What else can help me cope? I have severe diarrhea and have been treated for manic depression since 15 years old. All I want to do is sleep but with kids not possible and a 40 hour week job. I need your suggestions please. I feel like dying with no help from anyone!
I understand. Are you in a state that has medical cannabis? It is the best way to get off opiates. And use the edibles instead of smoking. You do need to go slow getting off of it if you are addicted vs dependent. Addicted means you go for the high. Dependent means you use it to kill pain... just to clarify.
It's so hard with FMS. I have that as well and also RA and OA and multiple of back issues. If you are not in a legal state, you need to cut down to about 4 hydrocodones a day. Slowly back off though so it will be easier to handle. Substitute opiate painkillers with naproxsyn or ibuprofen.
Talk to your doctor about alternatives. It is important he/she understands the extent of your pain and what you want to do.
