It is important that you taper your medicine slowly and do not stop abruptly otherwise you risk experiencing rebound hypertension. Rebound hypertension is blood pressure elevation in response to stopping or reducing your antihypertensive medications. It can have serious complications. Symptoms can include anxiety, fast heart rate and excessive sweating.
Make sure you follow your doctors tapering instructions carefully.
