I'm suppost to start taking half a tablet 12.5 , but kinda worried about the side effects , I have bad anxiety!
There are possible side effects, but the reason the doctor prescribed outweighs the possibility of any problem. Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is prescribed for fluid retention (edema) which can adversely affect many organs including your heart and kidneys. It is also used to control blood pressure. I would not be afraid to take and if by chance you notice any side effects that are bothersome to you, let the doctor know.
Grace 49; Laurie answered already this most people very rarely have problems and more so on the strength you well be on
this medication has been around for a long time and still used today. So it has a good track record don't look for problems where they well not be.But if you notice anything just let your doctor know. Make sure you take in the morning unless doctor said different or you well be up all night to pee.
