We both have been taking 8-10 Norco 10mg everyday for 2-3 years. We both stooped cold turkey. We are on the 3rd day we are still taking Soma 350mg. But it's still VERY hard, my wife is saying very hurtful things to me like she can't handle her life with me not on them. She said the pills block all her depression pain. She also says she no longer wants to be married to me. All of these words have been said during our withdrawals. How many more days will these withdrawals last? We will really fell better when were clean? Please help?
Sounds like its her withdrawal you're having a problem with. Try not to let it hurt you and remember where its coming from. Sounds like she needs an antidepressent. You both can try an anti histamine for anxiety and tylenol for pain. Imodium for any diarrhea. Hot baths help alot. Your liver will be much happier without the drugs in your system and you should feel alot better.
Days? It won't be days, it'll be months.
You both need to seek out some real help in the form of a Dr. that will help you do this correctly and get into a recovery program.
I won;t say you "can't" do this on your own, but I will say there's a good chance you can't, especially with the things you are reporting.
See it's not just the drugs, it's the behavior behind the addiction/abuse. AA, AL ANON, Teen Challenge and Marriage Encounter or Retrouvaille for your marriage, and other recovery groups are everywhere.
You need the fellowship and support. You also need the help of a physician (and I do not mean a Methadone clinic either) to help you.
No way the body can just adapt after 8-10 pills over 2-3 years, same goes for the abusive behaviors. You're looking at 8-14 months of disciplined dedicated hard work for starters
Want clean? Get yourselves into the recovery community, don't play games with this. It will not just go away.
Best to you. Hope this helps.
ive been on pain meds since 2005 after my accident ive learned for me its forever. But if you dont need them sounds like your doing the right thing although cold turkey can be dangerous they have Suboxone that from what i hear is a drug non addicting that makes it easier but if no insurance its costly, sounds like your wife is taking the detox a little harder and not thinking that you are going through the same thing i wish you all the best on your quest.. hang in there what doesnt kill us only makes us stronger
