... reminded him to take the medication but he got annoyed of it so I stopped I have always felt like he wasn't taking it properly so I did some counting and he has missed 4 weeks in a 3 month cycle. Does anyone know how this might affect him?
Is your husband taking his medications now?
You asked how has missing 4weeks drug treatment over a 3 month period has affected him? As you know one should not stop taking their medication. Given how the medication works his Prolactin levels probably increased and may or may not have gone back to where they should be. I live in the UK and at 12 months of treatment he would be due for a check-up. How is he feeling in himself? Do you know why he is not always compliant with his medication; which by the way is usually very successful? I will speck to another person on DC and get them to comment on your question if they can.
I'd get a pill box and fill it for him. I'd put it somewhere where he can't "forget" it. Then if he doesn't take them, I'd let his dr know he isn't compliant. After that you have done all you can for him. If he continues to be non compliant its willful and there isn't much you can do. The dr told him to take it, he had a reason for that. This kind of tumor can cause other problems in the body if it continues to grow. He is foolish to resist care.
Dawna106 The answer with the pill box is best,He can not miss that many doses in that short of time this drug is keeping the hormone that his bodie in place This drug is started and watched by blood test as needed but if the doctor takes a blood test thinking he is taking it as prescribed he or she may increase his dose thinking he is not getting the right results he should tell the doctor at the blood test that he has missed several weeks of this med this is a very potent drug and they add as litte as a .25 1/4mg at a time so when he misses doses as much as he is he could cause many problems.
he can take this at anytime of day food does not effect it SO GET A PILL BOX FROM THE PHARMACY LET THE DOCTOR KNOW HOW MUCH HE HAS MISSED OUT OF LOVE TELL HIM YOU MUST TAKE THIS JUST AS PRESCRIBED AND YOU CAN tell by it is way over due for a refill so the doctor well know talk to the pharmacist when you order it have him put a pill box with the order and discuss how importaint it is that he not miss any doses and they can tell by the way he is ordering it that he has been missing them..Talk to him again maybe its a side effect that he is doing this but that is something the doctor should know as long as any other medications or over the counter drugs anytime he is given something for anything they must know he is on this medication have them check for interactions at the dr's and the pharmacy..good luck to you
