Can anyone tell us what to take to relieve pain? Thanks!
My son had shingles on his face, which is very dangerous because of the eyes. He was prescribed Lyrica for the pain which is a seizure drug that is prescribed for nerve pain. Gabepentin is another that is used. I'm not sure about taking them with Subonxone, PattiShan or Laurie Shay whould be able to answer this for you. These are not opiates.
The common treatment for nerve pain associated with shingles is Neurontin. It is non narcotic and not addictive. It does require a prescription. Unfortunately, shingles is from the chicken pox virus that lays latent in the nerve fibers and can reoccur later in life. It maybe related to decreased immunity but probably has nothing to do with the Suboxone. You need to consult a doctor and get him the proper treatment for the pain. It does not require an opiate which of course won't work while he is taking the Suboxone anyway.
