My husband, 61, takes Coreg 25 mg 2x a day. I have read that magnesium is a good supplement for the heart. Is anyone familiar with taking magnesium and Coreg also? Coreg is one of 5 other meds that he takes. His diagnosis was cardiomyopathy, 8years ago. He does take a multiple vitamin, and additional C and B-6 (50mg) and an Omega 3. If magnesium will have a positive impact on his heart and not be a problem with his meds, we would like to try this.
While magnesium is needed for muscle function, I would say ask his cardiologist about it. Not everyone needs to take it as a supplement.
