Polymyxin B sulfate has a bactericidal action against almost all gram-negative bacilli except the Proteus group. Polymyxins increase the permeability of bacterial cell wall membranes. All gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and the gram-negative cocci, N gonorrhoeae and N meningitidis, are resistant.
So it most likley would have helped to clear your baby's infection.
I hope this worked for you and so sorry this is late in coming it should but if for some reason it does not please consult a dermatologist other drugs that kill various types of bacteria that I use on my mom is bactroban (its Rx) but it kills a lot of various forms of bacteria, also people who work with me at the hospital and treat wounds are a good source I would be happy to help further if I can
