Suboxone is primarily used to detox people off of opiods. It does have a pain med in it, but the naloxene that is in it blocks all opiods. So I dont understand why they try to treat people with this drug for pain. It doesnt make any sense to me. Its contrary to the reason they use the drug to begin with. My daughter was put on suboxone to treat her opiod addiction.. I personally wouldnt recommend this drug for pain issues But she liked it to help her come off of methadone. I have found methadone is the best pain med- long acting and cheap. I have severe pain issues and have been on everything from vicodin to oxycontin. I guess you have to figure out which one you need the most. But if the doctor says suboxone helps pain he is crazy. I have had both my knees replaced and they hurt awful.5 years later. I hope this helps some. Its really confusing. Can i add to list of friends
Suboxone is probably the best medication there is to treat addiction to opiates and since kadian is an opiate suboxone is def. the best bet to get off of it w/o withdrawls. and like tina said it does have a pain killer in it but as for it working for knee pain im not quite sure. I was addicted to heroin for a few years and have severe back pain, i was taking oc's for my back but they were just too expensive for me and took too long to work as do all pills and heroin was working much better and faster. when i started gettin clean however i was put on suboxone which took away all of my w/d symptoms and it did infact work pretty good killing my back pain. ofcourse it isnt nearly as strong as oc's but it made it so i was able to function perfectly normal through out the day as long as i didnt stress my back too much.
and im not sure how much knee pain you have or exactly how well it will work for it mainly for the fact that you use your knees so much through out the day, tina seems like she would know more about that. However if you are physically or even mentally addicted to kadian i would def. stick with suboxone at least for a few weeks until you are not dependent on any opiates and then try to get a differant painkiller from your doc, and hopefully you will be able to stand your knee pain if it doesnt work for that. i hope this helps
Hi Subzero58. I think you know the answer by now? I still remember the good old days when we first joined, one day apart from each other. I bet you were surprised to see "New answer posted to your question?" Geesh... how embarrassing some of my old stuff was! You helped me through a lot. Just wanted to say thanks!
I was put on subs. I let OC dig me into a big whole. I was put on Subs and I have been taking them as recemended. These last faw days I have been waiting up to terrible knee and leg pain. This is my second time on subs, and the first time I do not remember any type of pain in my legs. I am definetly not withdrawing or anything. I do work on my fit, but I have not done any out of the ordinary leg workouts? Have any of you had pain created because of subs>??? More particular in the knee region>?
