Clonazepam 0.5mg isn't a high dose (it's considered a low dose). Though you child is only 9, I don't think you need to worry about liver damage.
Once a year bloodwork that also checks liver enzymes should be sufficient.
If you're worried, I'd ask your child's doctor if more frequent bloodwork needs to be done.
There's no indication in general that Clonazepam is super harmful to the liver, except in long-term users on very high doses.
