How necessary is Vit A & C for COPD patients? If it does what are the regular doses to be taken?

"Vitamin A promotes healthy surface linings of the eyes and the respiratory, urinary, and intestinal tracts . When those linings break down, it becomes easier for bacteria to enter the body and cause infection. Vitamin A also helps the skin and mucous membranes function as a barrier to bacteria and viruses [9-11]."
The U.S. RDA for vitamin A is 1,000 retinol equivalents per day. (The U.S. RDA given is for adults, except pregnant or lactating women, and children over 4 years of age.)
The U.S. RDA for vitamin C is 60 milligrams per day. (The U.S. RDA given is for adults, except pregnant or lactating women, and children over 4 years of age.)
