Been drinking 70-80 oz of water a day, and on day 5 I have only lost 2 lbs. Im wondering if I am flushing the medication out of my system?
What medication are you trying to flush from your system? Drinking too much water can be dangerous if you deplete your electrolytes too much-you can cause trouble with your heart and all kinds of other issues if your electrolyte balance is off. Drinking large amounts of water will not make an opioid leave your system faster to pass a drug screen, if this is what you are trying to do. Only time and metabolism do this. Drinking water may dilute the urine but if it is too dilute they will not accept the specimen. Generally 64oz of fluid is considered optimal for most adults to stay well hydrated.
