... drain from the remaining infection in my lower abdomen which has been in place since DEC 10, the date of the last surgery from the sepsis.
I don't blame you for being frustrated. What kind of surgery did you have? You sound like you may have a weak immune system. Have you ever had a blood transfusion? It sounds like you may need one to get through this. Have they checked your CBC (iron level)? You definately need some IV antibiotics or something. Just a drain is not going to take care of it totally. I have been there, I had surgery on my gallbladder and got septic because it was an emergency surgery I almost died. I will be praying for you and I hope they get this resolved soon that is too long to stay infected. Don't lose hope yet I am pulling for you. Have you seen a specialist that deals with infections? Sounds like that needs to be your next step if not. Good luck.
I had pneumonia and it triggered Sepsis. I was in a coma for a week on a respirator. I had a lung removed. A year later I am beginning to feel better. I suffer from PTSS and am taking Wellbutrin and Lexapro. The combination of the two pulled me out of a dark depression. It will take a year to get it back but beware of the onset of depression.
Best of luck to you.
