I made the mistake of going cold turkey from 30mg to nothing (did not know there was consequences) Now I found out that Temazapam stays in your bloodstream for up to 6 weeks. Does that mean I will have these really bad consequences for that long?
Temazepam does NOT stay in your blood stream for 6 weeks. Where did you hear that info? It has a half life of approximately 8 hours. Drugs are out of your system after 5 half-lives, so Temazepam will remain in your blood stream for 40 hours on average. Definately NOT 6 weeks.
Benzo withdrawal however can last for 6 months, depending on how long you have been taking it. I'd ask your doc if you could try a long acting benzo like Klonopin or Valium, and then taper off very slowly.
