Hi its mylife, The tramadol has definitely pushed your wd's backwards somewhat. If it is only oxycodone that you have been taking ( except for the tramadol), you can expect withdrawal to start at about 24 hours after your last dose of any narcotic pain reliever. All people do not go through the same degree of withdrawal, around the 4th and 5th day it will probably be as bad as it will get. Don't forget the physcological withdrawal. You have been in the "habit" of taking oxy for a couple years. Try your best to stick with it, there will be a short amount of time will you will not be performing as well as usual (like at your job) if you work. The sleep loss seems to last the longest. Hang in there it can be done. Keep me posted Fall queen
So I'm confused. I don't take tramodol all the time only because I stoped the pain medication and had no chioce. Wich I was prescribed. So if I take tramodol I won't have the wds from the percocets? I have a just turned 3yr old son who is very smart and active. I am a stay at home mom and very alone. My husband works long hours. And honestly I'm scared. I have had a rough life and I need a break and I want to get better for my son and husband. I'm just scared. I need as much help as I can get. I have no money at all and no where to turn.
it'smylife, you are NOT alone. We are all in the same boat at one degree or another. I do know how scared you must be feeling. I'm scared too. Fall Queen is so right about the psychological withdrawal that goes with the territory. Add on top of that financial worries and it's a recipe for major depression. I'm trying my hardest to keep faith that something will work out for me too. I have so many "irons in the fire" right now, it's a miracle I'm keeping my sanity at all! Not to mention new physical problems that have me biting my fingernails down to nothing! I won't bore you with the details but let's just say, I can tell we have things in common. I'm so fortunate to have found this site and the people here have helped me through so much. I encourage you to stay and participate. You will get strength and courage through members support and personal experiences. Have some faith that we can pull you through this.
Best of luck to you,
chris
Hi, hang in there honey! I don't know what I would have done if I had not found this site! I moved about a year ago from a small town, where all my family still lives. My mom who is 83 and a diabetic lives there and I am so homesick and worried all the time. I am not so healthy myself, I suffer from chronic pain and depression. I have a very lively 9 yr old and a husband that works long hours. I really feel for you, and so does everybody on this site at least the people who respond to your questions. When-ever I feel close to losing it I log in and just read thru peoples questions, or read someones profile. There is always somebody you can relate to or a success story that inspires you. I am sorry to go on like this, but 5 months ago I was you and then I reached out thru this site... it will get better I promise. Keep writing to us we will keep writing back! Sweet Pea ( Try keeping a journal, it really does help)
Hi again, You have just gotten some more excellent advice from ChristineATU and Sweetpea, We are all here for the same reason in one respect or another, Some of us have diseases which have no cure, some folks are going through the pain of ridding themselves of a disese (either by radiation, chemo or surgeries. You will get better and as you do, so will you life, there will always be bumps in the road. Try to remember that you may have to have a friend help you make sure you and your daughter are getting the proper nutrition, rest, exercise and strong personal hygiene while you beat this. I only stress the nutrition and hygiene, because sometimes when we are sick we just do not feel "up to it", but your daughter (of course, you know) will need all the things she normally gets.
Sorry, You have a son, and I kept typing daughter. Your childrens needs will be the same either way. F.Q.

Finally have a working PC!! It's true about the tramadol, but you need to watch for quitting those cold turkey. You will need to taper off of them due to the risk of seziures. Also be careful with the amount of acetemeniphen your consuming as it is quite harmful to the liver.
