... what would the health issues usually be? Would it be better to have a thyroidectomy? (I have hyperthyroid with graves disease.)
Please research what real people say about thyriodectomy/RAI, not what the doctors say, what actual patients say. All but one of the people I have spoken with said they would NEVER do it again if they could go back.
IMO: Keep track of your own lab values. Do you really need that high of a dose? (I mean long term, cause at first the dose is usually higher to bring the patient back to normal limits)
