The Optician put me on Lotemax for (1) week, off (1) week, and back on another week. The inflamation was better, but still there. I was referred to an Opthalmogist. She put me on Pred-Forte from 7/8/10 until it was tapered off -- with the final taper-drop on 8/4. How long would it be possible for the effects to remain in my body? ( I was being treated for an inflamation on the outside of the cornea, as well as the inside --( "iritis & uveitis")
The half life of prednisolone acetate (the active ingredient) in aqueous humour is approximately 30 minutes.
For a drug to be totally eliminated from your system it takes 5.5 times the half life.
This means it will be in your system for approximately 165 minutes (almost 3 hours) after your final dose.
