isn't oxycodone & roxicodone similar? my dr. is trying to change me from one to the other, is there that much of a difference? thank you.
roxicodone is just another name for oxycodone. Oxycodone is the opiate in percocets and oxycontin. So it's the same thing, also roxicodone is fast acting and you get about 2 hours of pain relief. It's not much good unless yoiu only need it for a short period of time. Oxycontin is the drug to use for chronic pain as it's sustained release and gives you a stable dose for 8-12 hours... Dave
I do believe if you search this site for roxicodone it will tell you that roxi and oxy are the same drug (oxycodone) but roxicodone, oxycotin, oxyfast are all name brand and oxycodone isn't, and oxycodone is slow acting (all day relief kinda thing) and roxicodone is released as soon as you take it which helps sooner but wears off faster. Hope this helped
