I take a doctors scrip of .1 Xanax 1 to 2 times a day
Do you mean 1mg or (as you wrote it) 0.1mg of Xanax 1 to 2 times a day? A largest factors concerning the answer to your question depends on the length of time you have been taking Xanax, as well as the dose. If you have been on 1mg once or twice daily for more than 3-4 weeks, I'd say it would take probably around 2 weeks to get it out of your system. Other factors involved include your body mass, and how your body metabolizes the drug. If you have been taking it for a long time (more than 2-3 months), it could likely still be detected for an even longer time period. Additionally, if you have been on 1-2mg per day for a long time, suddenly stopping your medication for the week or more needed in order to pass a drug test could easily result in life-threatening side effects (seizures have been caused even in people who have taken 1-2mg a day for only 3-4 weeks, but those are probably the more rare cases). If your dose is actually, as you wrote it, 0.1mg (I don't know how that would be obtained though, as 0.5mg tablets are the smallest I know of), then you should be able to come off of that tiny amount relatively quickly (though I would ask your physician about it... you do not want to mess around with benzo withdrawal). Last word of advice, if your question is due to your fear of failing a drug exam, you should be allowed to tell whomever is asking for the test that you take xanax as a prescribed medication. 3 months ago I was going through the process of being hired for a volunteer position which had me take a urine test, but I simply noted that I was taking xanax under current prescriptions... therefore, any positive that came back certainly did not preclude me from the position (and I've been working there for over 2 months now).
I hope that what I have offered is at least somewhat helpful to you, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever it is you are concerned about!
