I have been taking pristiq for about 5 weeks. I had a traumatic experience that triggered panic attacks, anxiety and depression. I was hoping by now I would feel 100% better. I feel like I am not ever going to be normal again. How long does it normally take to completely work?
When taking pristiq, it’s important to give it time to work. Everybody responds differently to treatment. In general, it can take several weeks to feel the full benefit of a prescription antidepressant, although some people will start to feel better sooner.-
Do not get desperate.- It will make things worse for you...
I have been taking it for 3 weeks. I feel the side effects. Xanax helps with the anxiety. I am trying to be optimistic about this drug.. Keep me posted on how you are doing :)
I have been taking it almost four weeks. Recently I up the dosage to 100 mg. I do not notice much relief on depressive symptoms. For antidepressants to take an effect, many things have to happen in your brain. Such as increasing postsynaptic serotonin receptors, etc. that is why these medications take a long time to work for some people. I have not given up on this medication. Most of side effects have disappeared and I read many forums where people said that give this drug time to work. By six weeks, I hope to benefit some from this medication. Good luck to you too.
i know this a old post but just wondering did you end up improving on pristiq after the 5 weeks? just ive been on it for 6 weeks and still dont feel right i just feel really shaky inside everyday. just wondering if it got better for you on pristiq??
