My understanding is that it can take four to six weeks for the full effect of some drugs to reach their potential and the same amount of time for the effects to be eliminated after use is discontinued.
I realize this answer is very late but may help someone later.
The observed mean elimination half-lives for iloperidone, P88 and P95 in CYP2D6 extensive metabolizers (EM) are 18, 26 and 23 hours, respectively, and in poor metabolizers (PM) are 33, 37 and 31 hours, respectively.
It takes 5.5 x elimination half lifes for a medicine to be cleared from ones system. So if we take the maximum elimination half life of 37 hours, it'll take 203.5 hours i.e. approximately 8.5 days (5.5 x 37 hours), for Fanapt to be cleared from ones system.
also if this medication is discontinued and then started again the doctor nees to know so he can adjust the dose from the starting point, I did notice a warning about using grapefruit juice and some other fruits if this is evr used again please ask the doctor, I wish you only the best as far as elimination process Marvell is correct. please do take crae
