If I was going to do some serious walking, how long before starting should I take combivent. Would it help my breathing while walking?
I am not a dr. but I have been using it for years, its works within five minutes(may differ with you) and it normally lasts a couple of hours, you also have to consider how bad your medical condition is and if you smoke ect. Combivent in my opinion is one of the best inhalers...
Combivent contains a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. Albuterol and ipratropium are bronchodilators that relax muscles in the airways and increase air flow to the lungs - making it easier for you to breathe.
The bronchodilating effects of Combivent should be noticed at around 15 minutes and maximum effect at 1 hour.
The action of Combivent should last 4-5 hours or longer.
Yes it would be a good idea to use your inhaler at the start of your serious walk to prevent becoming wheezy.
