My doctor tested me, and found my testosterone level to be 60. He prescribed androgel, and I have been on the 5 gm. pump dosage for 10 days. My main symptoms are extreme fatigue, depression, and sex drive. I can perform, but sex is not on my mind the way it used to be. So far, I do not feel any different, and was wondering how long it takes to work?
Most testosterone replacement therapy drugs take a little while to build a level in your system. At least one or two months should be long enough to observe some differences in how you feel and behave. However, if you are experiencing serious fatigue, you need to report that to your doctor. There are several different drugs that could be prescribed. Talk it over with them.
Wish I could tell you to except results over night, but that doesn’t happen. It takes many year for our T levels to drop off thus it takes some time to bring them back up. I started out on Bio-Identical creams. Dr started me on 1% and went back in a month and he would raise levels until I was at 5% cream. Levels T levels were great, then for some reason they dropped to 150. So he put me on the shoots every 2 weeks. Shoots worked fine. Took about 4 weeks and I could I started feeling better. but would drop off after 7 days. He gave me 7 tubes of Tistem and wanted me to try that in between shoots. It didn’t work to well for me made my stomach act up and got a bit of anxiety. I didn’t care for the smell as even after you washed your shirt I could still smell a faint smell. So asked him if I could try Anrdo-Gel. It seems to be working great is kind of messy. Had my T levels taken Feb 6, 2011 and they were a tad High. All of this has taken place over a period of 2 year. Stick with it when it starts working you will be much better off. Like I have said before. I wish all Family Dr would routinely test all men at 50 for low T and they should also test women at 40 for low Hormones. I think if they it did would save a lot of unhappy men and women if they got treat younger. May save a lot of marriages.
