Warnings state that you should not take Wellbutrin after suddenly stopping drinking. What is the time frame an individual needs in between stopping alcohol and starting Wellbutrin?
I believe the issue is that Wellbutrin can decrease the seizure threshold and the stopping drinking can precipitate a seizure. So you would be ok to take the Wellbutrin as soon as you are over any withdraw from drinking. The withdraw from drinking will vary depending on how much and how often you drank. You probably will be ok to take the Wellbutrin after a weeks time from the last drink, but this is just an estimate. I don't know your particular situation.
It would be best to discuss with the prescribing doctor.
